Threats
Year
2018
The ten pieces of the art are in chronological order under a singular topic; it is about threats seen from the inside the house.
Not only are the threats outside the house in chronological but also the architectural style and the art material I used are in the order of their appearance and based on the accordance of the period.

Stone Age (Charcoal)
This is the first piece of the series of “Threats.” In the Stone Age, humans are thought to have lived in the cave. Possible threats would be the harsh weathers (such as cold winter) and dangerous animals. It is drawn in charcoal since it is the oldest material in art history. I created this because I wanted to use charcoal and express the early age of Earth.

Neolithic Age (Pencil)
In the Neolithic Age, which is about 12000BC, humans started to live in tents and start farming. If people farmed they must have needed to store the foods. However, with the lack of any storing devices such as, humans would have suffered from diverse diseases caused by bacteria. Therefore I thought that bacteria and storage problems would have been one of the biggest problems. By making this piece of art, I was able to study the Neolithic Age and express bacteria as if it is real.

Mud House (Pen)
The third drawing is a view seen from the inside of a mud house. Darkness and unknown outer world may have been a threat. Making this piece of art, I mastered the skill to express trees and mud by using pen.

Color Pencil
The next threats that humans would have faced was the attacks from other nations/tribes. I used color pencil to create this piece

Hunger and poverty
Hunger and poverty was a big threat to humans. People died due to starvation and this was created using color pencil and a maker on vinyl.

Reformation (Printmaking)
I drew the beginning of Reformation from the eye of a person inside the church. Using the printmaking method, I express the window of the church. Through the process of making this piece of art, I was able to study the history and adapt methods of printmaking.

Oil painting
I used oil painting to draw the uprising against latifundism.

Revolution (collage)
French revolution happened in the 1830s. Collage was used to create this piece.

Industrial age (Markers)
Industrial buildings began to dominate the world and humans were trapped in these factories.

World War II (Paint)
World War II, nuclear bomb ended the war and ended a lot of lives of people.

air pollution (photo)
Pollution has been a rising problem in the recent worlds. This piece of art is made with photos to create an image of air pollution from factories. I believe environmental contamination is serious at this point and that people should acknowledge it and try to make a change. I expressed the red curtains with pictures of bright cities. Behind the curtain of bright cities and through the window, the factory chimney made up of pictures of human’s ambition. From the chimney, smoke composed of pictures of people’s face is visible. Thus, the blue sky is made up of pictures of animals and plants.

Privacy (photoshop)
These days, one of the biggest threats in our lives are privacy. The window for this piece of art is the computer "windows"
