Han is the sorrow of the soul.In Korea, there is a culture that relieve this sadness. Like untieing a knot, “hae han” means releasing the deep resentment that is built up in one’s heart. Through the design, I hope to visulaize the knot of sorrow being untied and comfort the families.

Concept
The sculptural memorial will release the sorrow of the people by visulaizing the act of tangled emotions being untied. Due to the accident, it is expected that people will not be willing to revisit the area which will impact all the business in the area. Therefore, an urban scaled memorial will enlighten the space and add meaning to the entire district.
